I couldn't get qtsixa to run either, but with the xboxdrvr is it working fine for me. The trick is that you have to run it in a terminal in the background to have it working.
Edit: start it via:...
The new Stunt Rally is quite nice:

However currently you need a quite beefy system to run it.
Generally I would advise checking out the freegamedev.net forums:

There are some nice hosted projects, but also a lot of people from other FOSS game projects post regulary...
Nice, but since it is mostly about performance increase, could you give us some additional information, just how much it increase? Maybe before and after FPS?
Can't test it my self right now, but I...
The awesome puzzle game Wind and Water can now be downloaded free for Windows (works well in WINE) and they are also working on a Linux version

No, since that article is misleading. UT was never open-source. What they did is take the open-source Q3 engine and put that for download on their page, and then another file with contained the UT...
No Intel CPUs have something called Hyperthreading, which enables a cpu to simulate another one... very simplified ;)
i3 and i5 have AFAIK all only 2 cores, but with HT they can run 4 threads at...
One important thing to keep in mind though, is that Nvidia's Optimus technology is not working under Linux AT ALL, and they have no plans of implementing it under Linux any time soon.
So you think...
I assume Intensity, of the Syntensity project? I guess it's not really worth looking into since the project is more or less dead.
But parts of it have been taken up by the guys from CubeCreate:...
Sauerbraten has quite different gameply... but yes I agree it looks nicer. Nexuiz will get a significant graphical update in the form of Xonotic soon however.
You might have to compile it yourself, but ask on the Urban Terror forums what they are using. Probably you can use the Netradiant also, and AFAIK it is much easier to compile.
Yes the standard variations of id-softwares Radiant work just fine under Linux too. For Nexuiz it's their own fork "Netradiant" for Urban Terror I don't know, probably the standard GTKRadiant.
http://love2d.org/ is a nice platform to create 2D games with lua, which is easy and fast.
What do you mean with online games? There are plenty of online FPS for Linux. For MMORPGs, well WoW and GuildWars runs quite well with wine, and Regnum Online (spelling?), Ryzom and Vendetta are...
The closest you will get ist 0 A.D.:

It's however not quite ready to play anything else than simple multiplayer matches.
You can also try the games based on...

Is pretty cool, and has an ubuntu .deb for easy installation.
Otherwise check out our blog:

Strangely enough it seems to capture some games's audio without problems. I just recorded this for our blog:

And much to my surprise the audio works...
Still have to really try it, but the previous parts were great, so I got the game on release day ;)
Awesome! This will really become a perfect open-source RTS then!
I will look into contribution models for sure!
Good that you are considering a license change, and I understand that you want to prevent commercial use. But choosing the NC option is in this case overkill and actually causes a lot of problems...
I made some changes to the text.
Could you further elaborate what you mean with the data license. Even if it technically not available, why put it under such a restrictive license?
Maybe just put...
Nice work so far. made a quick promo post on FreeGamer:

CC-NC-ND as a media license is not so great however, NC makes it...
try DarkRadiant then:

Ahh, ok. I wasn't aware that ANY game had this.
ET:Quakewars (and Wolf:ET I think) has squads that you can join which have different objectives and so on, but it isn't something that you are forced...
