    Well, I'm happy to report that after two years of waiting and upgrading to 64-bit Precise Pangolin, and adding "enableTips=false"

    Google-Earth still crashes.

    Couple of things:

    1) By default, most configure files will put the executable at /usr/local/bin/k3b rather than /usr/bin/k3b, so make sure that /usr/local/bin is in your path, as it is by default...
