    [xubuntu] Re: Zoom Communications Services

I prefer to use jitsi, but it only works on Chrome/Chromium-based browsers. I know it works on Slimjet, but I don't know about Vivaldi.

I've been involved with Toastmasters meetings on zoom, which...
  3. Re: Is hexchat and synaptic available for Focal?

Iv'e been using synaptic in Xubuntu for quite a while, so, yes, it's available. I've not tried to install hexchat, so I have no idea.

However, I've been having some problems with synaptic with...
  4. Re: Sites that don't support Ubuntu browsers

Maybe they're just terrified that Ubuntu users are all hackers, so they want to keep us away. :)
  5. [ubuntu] Re: Unfortunately, your browser does not support video playback.

That worked on my Ubuntu VM.

If this applies to the live ISO, should someone report a bug?
  6. Re: Where to report a keyboard layout bug?

I reported a bug against Gnome-shell, but I'm not sure that Gnome-shell is the problem.

I get the keyboard layout misbehaviour in Gnome-shell and Openbox (where the layout is set using...

[SOLVED] Re: Need Help Update and big problems

If you can, it's not a bad idea to run development releases in a VM, or at least on a second machine. That way, if things go south, you can still use your main install.
  8. [ubuntu] Re: Unfortunately, your browser does not support video playback.

I wouldn't expect the VM install to make much difference in a case like this.

I have to say that, after the recent libcrypt debacle, I'd be very reluctant to use anything other than a VM.
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Unfortunately, your browser does not support video playback.

It looks as though I can verify VMC's problem.

I have a full install of Xubuntu installed in a VM, and fully updated. I can play non-drm .mp4 files in Firefox on it.

    I also have a minimal...
  10. [ubuntu] Re: Netboot image error Loading libc6-udeb failed for unknown reasons. (Focal)

I encountered the same problem and I've marked myself as affected by the bug. If others could also do this, it could be helpful.

    Re: openbox in focal?

    Thanks for the replies.

I've taken a closer look using aptitude (which I should have done earlier, sorry) and it seems that it's obmenu - the menu editor - that's the issue. I've removed it plus...

    openbox in focal?

When I want a lightweight installation, I've been in the habit of installing Ubuntu-standard and then installing xorg and openbox on top of that. However, in focal there seems to be some issue with...
  13. [xubuntu] Re: TOTP app that runs in Ubuntu/Xubuntu?

I have version 2.3.1 from the repo.

Start the program and create a new entry in the usual way, and save. Then right-click on it and you'll get a menu. One of the items is Time-Based One-Time...
  14. [xubuntu] Re: TOTP app that runs in Ubuntu/Xubuntu?

KeePassXC has a TOTP option which I occasionally use.

    Re: The forums looks old

    +1

I'd also add that there are a fair few forums on the internet still running phpbb, which also has a rather old look - these forums aren't unique in that regard.
