Which version of Ubuntu(10.04 or 10.10),which version of Compiz? have you installed Fusion icon, ubuntu-restricted-extras in Synaptics package manager.

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04, compiz doesn't crashes but I want it to start at startup.
This is what I did, System,Admin,Startup programs and Add then entered Compiz then I'm lost because I'm not sure...

The shutdown problem(buffer I/O error) has made me to uninstall 9.10. I'll wait until everything get settled.
I have uninstalled 9.10 and wait for the wubi installer to get the speed which I desire. ATM, it takes a very nice 910h55m and I am not going to wait that long because I'm not desperate.
It's great! I like the colour,fonts, appearance,the whole lot except that I have to do hard shutdown until someone solves the Buffer I/O error on device loop0 logical block.
I have the same problem as well, upgraded from 9.04 through wubi.
Finally, I managed to upgrade my 9.04 to 9.10 and I must admit it looks pretty good. I can only say that at the moment as it's early days.
I have tried wubi, windows installer and burnt a CD. Well, I don't know what else could be done except give up on 9.10 for the time being. I never had such trouble installing(WUBI) 9.04,BTW WUBI...
How long does it take to download and install 9.19. It shows some ridiculous time like 318h 54min or something like that. I am using the windows installer which is similar to wubi.
