    If you are using VMware 2.0 then the add on is not compatible with the updated firefox.
    To run your virtual machine type
    localhost:8333
    in the browser address bar.

    Are you using vmware server 1.0.7 as this problem is related to earlier versions where the any any patch was required.

    It would seem that the reason you cant access the drive is that it has not been mapped, it should be something like z:/sandbox on 192.xxx.xxx.
    Have you got two vm machines set up, one for XP and one...

    After you have set up your network drive in windows you connect to it by logging in as -
    your_linux_user_name\sandbox
    password is your samba password

    Are you sure that you are using the right ip, it is normally the first one.

    On my 32 bit box running Ubuntu 8.04 I have no trouble at all with firefox or the web interface. Having said that I always start my virtual machine via the desktop shortcut...

    permissions are wrong somewhere. You should not have to use sudo. Run vmware by itself from the command line and see what messages you get.

    Why not give up on duel booting like I did a couple of years ago, install Ubuntu on the whole drive and then install VM server for XP.
