Try deleting the $HOME/.cache/ibus/libpinyin folder, then restart ibus-libpinyin.
I have four machines all are Ryzen based. Did not notice any problem with the 5.8.0-36 kernel. But will still upgrade to 5.8.0-38.
Care to recommend one or two chromium variations?
Thanks! OSB-Studio works great, and is now very easy to install too.

When I tried to use VLC to do video recording, it started OK for less than one second, then the screen froze. Audio recording, however, continued and can...
Has anyone successfully installed Ubuntu 20.10 (5.8 kernel) on an exFAT USB stick?
Very good advice! I am using a USB3 stick plugged into the router port. Never store important files there. Also I unplug it when not in active use. Very convenient but untrustworthy.
I think what happened is that I accidentally did a cold reboot of my router (powered it off for more than 30 sec). Running diff shows that there does not appear to be any change in the smb config...
Only did Ubuntu update. Did nothing with the router.
Again, not that I am complaining, but just wanted to know what happened in the recent Ubuntu/Debian updates.
In 20.04 (and subsequent releases including daily updates), I was never able to connect to the USB3 HD storage attached to my router (LP-Link) via samba (had to resort to using ftp). But after a...
I have a Ryzen 7 2700 desktop running Ubuntu 20.04.1 (5.4.0.54 kernel). Never had any suspend/wake-up problem since initial install.
If I mess up, how do I go back to my previous kernel?
I have couple of the edimax usb wifis, work great!

One of the USB sticks I tried was a SanDisk Extreme Pro which has a write speed of ~400MB/s; that should be fast enough. Also, I have previously installed Ubuntu 20.10 into another USB3 stick; it...
My Mainboard maker is ASRock. I have tried all the options and to no avail.
A new development. I have created a casper-rw-labeled partition in the harddrive (SSD) of the B450M-based Ryzen...
I already included fsck.mode=skip in the kernel parameter. Sometimes I took it out to see more verbose.
I looked at both methods and they use the same basic tools as I use in creating my persistent LiveUSB. Plus, my method works in all my laptops with all versions of Ubuntu including 20.10. The only...
This is the error message I got when booting the 20.10 persistent LiveUSB from a B450M based desktop machine:

I have no problem booting this persistent LiveUSB from all my other computers (all three of them are Ryzen notebooks). A persistent LiveUSB made from the same procedures had problem booting from...
No problem with normal boot from the LiveUSB. Looks like the persistent parameter caused kernel panic.
Tried. Still getting kernel panic.
Without getting into details, I have made a groovy persistent LiveUSB. I have tried this liveUSB on several laptops of different makes (all are AMD Ryzen laptops) without any problem. Actually it...
I am running Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS. So, it's not possible to upgrade to gnome 3.38? I am only interested in the LTS version of Ubuntu.
