  1. Re: kubuntu 14.04 "event sounds" volume won't stay adjusted

I'm having this problem as well, except in my case 'Event Sounds' keeps making itself louder. Much MUCH louder. This is, as one might expect, quite unpleasant.

[kubuntu] Re: 8.10 how to restore removed panel?

Worked on 11.04 as well, tho I was more selective in my deleting. I deleted everything in .kde/share/config that started with the word plasma. That did the trick!
  4. [SOLVED] Re: Accidentally shrunk default panel into invisibility

Yup, better search terms led me to http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=992262, and after deleting everything in .kde/share/config that started with plasma, the problem is solved. Thanks!
  5. [SOLVED] Re: Accidentally shrunk default panel into invisibility

But it does suggest possibly useful search terms. So thanks!
  6. [SOLVED] Re: Accidentally shrunk default panel into invisibility

Meant to include a URL? :) I did google, for the record, but probably I can't think of the right search terms (it's late, I'm tired, probably a contributing factor to this problem.)
  7. [SOLVED] Accidentally shrunk default panel into invisibility

I was resizing the default panel, and at exactly the wrong moment, the cat jumped on the desk and bumped my hand, causing me to shrink the panel into nothingness. Now, the panel is still running (I...

  9. Re: Something funny im noticing about software thats supposed to be "user friendly"

I am totally with you. A couple years ago in kubuntu, it used to be that you had access to ALL the graphical admin apps from kcontrol. Now, kcontrol is now more, and the "settings" app hides the...

  11. [xubuntu] Re: need to format /home when going from kubuntu to xubuntu?I

d'oh! I knew that, and completely wasn't thinking about it. I feel foolish now. Thanks for the reminder!
  12. [xubuntu] Re: need to format /home when going from kubuntu to xubuntu?I

Because KDE4 sucks, and I'm tired of trying to work around the suck. I've got xubuntu on my netbook, and it's way more functional for me.
So, xubuntu will create any needed files&directories in...

  21. [kubuntu] Re: Can't expand partition into "freed" space

I did, I screenshotted it and it's in the post, as well as what qtparted shows. Are the two images not showing up?
  22. [kubuntu] Re: Can't expand partition into "freed" space

Sorry, should have mentioned, I booted to a live cd to make the changes. So, it's not the fact the the partition is mounted, as the partition was not mounted at the time, and I could have shrunk the...

  25. [kubuntu] Re: Firefox won't open files from the download manager

Yeah, it being there and not working is kind of a cruel taunt. 'You wanna open your file, do you? Well you CAN'T! hahahaha.' it seems to say. Or maybe I'm anthromoporphizing a bit much :p
