Rhythmbox freezes every time

Used to work perfectly but sometime ago started freezing every time run -- just books up the CPU to 100% and freezes - unusable

thanks - yeah rhythmbox runs at 80% and over - can't use it really - just blanks out as it is waiting - funny because i've used it pretty flawlessly for such a long time.
