1). Put only x1900 card in you computer, get out the other one.
    2). Use Gentoo...

[lubuntu] Re: Finally Lubuntu Run on my Quad G5

What's the VRAM size detected by kernel log? That could be known by "dmesg |grep 'VRAM'" in a terminal. Do you get a right vram size in Xorg.0.log when the HD4650 card is used?
    So far as the root...

[lubuntu] Re: Finally Lubuntu Run on my Quad G5

Thank you for your very informative explanations. It's really interesting! I would plan to get some hardware if you had a positive result about HD6570.

    @luigiburdo

Thank you for your valuable work. I'd like to know if you can boot to a console with Nv 6600 card in PCIEx8 slot and HD card in PCIEx16 slot using Lubuntu. From my experience...

[lubuntu] Re: Finally Lubuntu Run on my Quad G5

If you can boot Lubuntu to the console with an PC card in PCIEx16 slot and an ATI or Nvidia mac card in another PCIE slot, maybe you could make the things go further by tweaking the xorg.conf file....

[lubuntu] Re: Finally Lubuntu Run on my Quad G5

    xorg.conf file should be there.
Wasn't you asked to enter root password when you installed Lubuntu? Can Lubuntu be booted as single user mode? If yes you can add normal users in the file...

[lubuntu] Re: Finally Lubuntu Run on my Quad G5

How about "sudo ls /etc/X11"? Some systems won't let normal users escalate to root privilege, but you can use "sudo" to execute some commands of superuser, after the right user's password has been...

[lubuntu] Re: Finally Lubuntu Run on my Quad G5

Can't 'sudo' be used to get root privilege? Can't you even access '/etc/X11' directory?

[lubuntu] Re: Finally Lubuntu Run on my Quad G5

Could you also upload Xorg.0.log, dmesg, lsmod and xorg.conf(when applicable)? I have much interest in it.
    Thank you.
