  1. Re: Ubuntu 18.04 nautilus will not display orf thumbnails

Here's one of mine( I think this will work, never shred like this before)

  2. Ubuntu 18.04 nautilus will not display orf thumbnails

I have not been able to get nautilus to display thumbnails for Olympus raw files from the Olympus e-m1 mkii camera. It displays thumbnails for canon CR2 raw files but not Oly ORF files.

Yes, but only if the motherboard allows you to boot from an external drive.
  4. [lubuntu] Re: gpodder 3 shouldn't have been added to the repository, ipod is now useless

It's my understanding that this was by design starting with version 3.0
  5. [lubuntu] Re: gpodder 3 shouldn't have been added to the repository, ipod is now useless

I found a .deb file for version 2.20. After installing python-gpod, it works perfectly in 12.10 with my classic ipod

    https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/quantal/amd64/gpodder/2.20.1-1
  6. [lubuntu] Re: gpodder 3 shouldn't have been added to the repository, ipod is now useless

I agree completely. Gpodder is no longer useful. I really don't see any reason to have it. What could they have possibly been thinking?

Re: POLL : your first reactions to the Unity interface

Now that 11.10 has been released I decided to give it another try.

As as with 11.04 , I find it to be completely unusable. It seems as if the interface was designed to purposely prevent the...

    Re: Unity MEGA Thread

As far as bring a great interfaces goes, I'd say it's about on par with Microsoft Bob.

Dumbing down an interface doesn't make it great.
  10. Re: Why is linux, including Ubuntu, so far behind with the GUI desktop????

Why would you want to do that? Linux is about choice. Unity is an attempt to lock newbies in and it's a miserable failure.

There are other options but why mess with something that works?...

Re: 32 bit vs 64 bit

I have been using 64bit for the last few releases and have had no compatibility issues.

Why didn't you stick with 8 bit ;-) Probably before your time. My age is showing.
  15. Re: Is Ubuntu 11.04 really buggy as everyone claims?

I didn't find it to be buggy, I am sticking with 10.10 because I found unity to be completely unusable. It is an interface better suited to a cell phone or netbook. I did try to use gnome classic...

When you say nothing happens, what exactly do you mean?

Does it come back and tell you no such directory? Does it give an error?

Keep in mind that everything is case sensitive.

I use Banshee to manage music on my IPod and I use gpodder for podcasts, both work flawlessly. Of course you can't access the itunes store through them if that's your goal.

Poll: Re: Where do you prefer your menus

You can bet that the majority of us put them back on the 'right' side where they belong. Bad design is bad design. Moving the buttons and the menu is bad design.
