Don't worry guys, issue fixed. There was a 'share post' widget in there somewhere that I couldn't see. Only noticed via hover-over. I've removed it now and all seems to be working.

I also use Thunderbird as a desktop client for email. I've got it synced with my one and only Gmail address and it does the job excellently. Haven't had a problem yet.
