    Uninstall the (gnome-terminal) and reinstall it. Go to the Software Center to do so. You can even install another terminal if you like.

    Do you have these fonts install on your PC. It can't render if these fonts aren't install on your PC. You browser settings for fonts(defaults) might be the case also.
