I am having an interesting problem. My weireless was working fine all summer, but now that I have come back to school it is no longer responding.
iwlist wlan0 scan scans available networks...
I solved it, thought I would post what I did here for others having the same issue.
Process:
Redisabled IPv6 in /etc/modprobe.d/aliases
Opened Network Manager
Disabled Roaming Mode
Configured...
resolv.conf file is populated like this
search home
nameserver 10.12.42.5
nameserver 10.12.42.6
Any other ideas?

Ya, I just ran
sudo apt-get install wpasupplicant
and it tells me I have the newest version already.
And just to make sure my wifi is actually working and not an illusion I just ran.
