I am having an interesting problem. My weireless was working fine all summer, but now that I have come back to school it is no longer responding.

iwlist wlan0 scan scans available networks...

I solved it, thought I would post what I did here for others having the same issue.

Process:
Redisabled IPv6 in /etc/modprobe.d/aliases
Opened Network Manager
Disabled Roaming Mode
Configured...

resolv.conf file is populated like this



search home
nameserver 10.12.42.5
nameserver 10.12.42.6


Any other ideas?

After a couple nights of playing with it I finally got my Broadcom wireless card working.

For a while I could see wireless networks but not connect, I finally fixed this after hours of...

This also did not work. I am assuming IPv6 is not the issue here. I just downloaded some updates and what not through command line but still no browsing or pinging available.

This switch to Ubuntu...

Ya, I just ran



sudo apt-get install wpasupplicant

and it tells me I have the newest version already.

And just to make sure my wifi is actually working and not an illusion I just ran.

I appreciate it. I have moved my laptop to a new area to test if it was just my router denying my connection. This turns out is not the case. Any other suggestions?
