Also affected by this error but on my Dell laptop.
Have tried your fix and will report back :)
I've populated an LDAP database with a script, but whenever I reboot, I can't access the users and need to completely re-install (for which I've created another script). I'm running 11.10.

Thanks lechien73! Worked like a charm!
sakuyaslove, most of the options to get started can be set from the boot loader (using F6 per spawes's instructions).
Creating the /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-nouveau can be done with

Awesome thread all--the advice has been invaluable!
What might be the consequences of disabling the nouveau driver? Is it likely that this is something we'll be able to remove later?

Hey all, I discovered after once disabling Wifi (using the context menu) and then being unable to re-enable it that the Fn+F2 Wifi switch on the Dell XPS 17 L702X doesn't work in Oneiric.

Anybody? Mighty irritating bug....
Thanks in advance :)
I'm encountering an issue on Oneiric (running the classic Gnome profile plus Compiz) where all of my windows will randomly appear to become unresponsive to click events.

Sorry took so long to follow up, but I don't believe I got an email notification.
I have no other task switcher enabled.
Additionally, I've tried the timing...
Quite recently, after upgrading my desktop to Lucid--but not immediately after--my alt-tab task switcher began to act up.
The alt-tab action takes nearly an entire second to switch between windows...
Massive help!
Would be nice if this were included by default :)
I get the same issue.
Only happens once in a blue moon, but when it does, I have to restart.
This is on fully up-to-date Karmic. Plumbing the gnome-config depths hasn't yielded a fix yet. Any...
