Yes Steam is DRM, but in the 3 years I have used Steam I have never had a problem with it.

I couldn't agree more, they really made a terrific game. The only thing I really wish they would have done was to make modding easier.

I ran into this problem this morning, seems that the ppa has been updated now.

Try:
sudo apt-get updateI had the same problem as the OP. I don't know what happen but the command line said it couldn't resolve us.archive.ubuntu.com:http, and the above fixed it.

I just want to change my distro from Kubuntu 11.04 to Ubuntu 11.10 lol. But with a forum this large I can see why this was done.

In order for me to install any version of Ubuntu from cd/dvd after 10.04 i have to do the following:


At keyboard and person icon - press escape
At menu - press F6 and select nomodeset, hit...

I went out and picked up a new gpu, everything is working good so far. And I agree Hammerfall is a bit strange. I'm not liking doing everythign with the mouse. vvvv/And Yet It Moves are my favorites...

I'm using an HD 5770. I was playing SC2 and it started glitching out also. I re-installed catalyst, and it was still buggy. I think my gpu is going out.

I'm not all that Linux savvy, but from my understanding you don't need an anti-virus because a virus is made on Linux for Windows not for Linux.

Totally forgot about this thread. I solved it by install IE8, turns out the DRM that is used in the Direct2Drive version needs stuff thats in IE8.
