    The nvidia solution has an active hardware module that needs to be included in the monitor. That - and licensing, I'd imagine - make the G-Sync models more expensive than the FreeSync ones.

    Video editing is orthogonal to gaming; any potato with enough RAM can do video editing, and faster machines will do it faster. With sufficient RAM lots of cores is what will make video encoding...
