[all variants] Re: new motherboard bios.

Most curious. I told you fedora was / is fragile. Ubuntu has had a win. I've piggybacked onto fedora's menu.lst and booted into Ubuntu Hardy on what is currently the first hard drive. It's only...

[all variants] Re: new motherboard bios.

Let me make it clear. GRUB IS STUFFED.

Who has reduced grub to a second rate meaningless...

    [ubuntu] Re: Laptop screen problems.

That is probably right. My nvidia card peaked at 1280 x 1024.
On Windows it would go much finer. Don't know how or why. Just experiment and see if that setting is where it peaks for Ubuntu and it...

    sudo mkdir /mnt/win
sudo mount /dev/(I think yours is sdb1) /mnt/win

Check in the file /etc/fstab as to which is the first and which the second. Bring up a console, enter
    sudo eject /dev/cdrom(1 or 2)

    and you should succeed.
