I had some errors installing XnView from the tar.gz file on their site under Intrepid so I downloaded the .rpm and did:


sudo alien XnView-static-fc4.i386.rpm

and then:


sudo dpkg -i...

according to this page, you can rename the extension to .mov and it will work. My geexbox does play mp4s as video properly so it may be an issue with your player rather than uShare.
