[ubuntu] Re: Sound.. then no sound after a while in 11.04

    Any updates on this ?

I have the same problem on Arch so it's no distro specific. I think it started happening with the 3.x kernel, I will check an older one in order to make sure.

Saying that they should merge is very disrespectful to Debian in my opinion.

It is a great forum software. It is by far the best free forum available, and it even competes in features with commercial solutions like vBulletin.

  6. Re: Top 10 Most Active Torrents on LinuxTracker.org

There is no way to measure how many users a distro has by the downloads. Damn I have downloaded more than 50 distros but use just two. :P

    Re: Amarok/Exaile?

I was an old time amarok user but Exaile covers my needs now. It handles my massive collection pretty nice and its very fast.

Tbh amarok has loads of extra features but I didn't really use them...

Poll: Re: What's your favorite music player?- Super Thread

Use Exaile, I find it to be pretty much the same in basic tasks and much faster than amaroK as well.

As they state in their page:
"Exaile is a music player aiming to be similar to KDE's Amarok,...
  13. Re: What brands to choose when buying a new computer

I used to trust Seagate as all their drivers I got are still working, some after years and years. However when I read they bought Maxtor I lost that trust. You can't be sure what they manufacture...

Re: We Need to Kill GNOME

I just love it when people suddently discover what is "wrong" with Linux and start making blogs and forum posts.

Guess what, most people don't think there is anything wrong with it. They just...

I used to install KTorrent as well but I've found Deluge is faster and less heavy.

Re: How many of you are running Compiz-Fusion?

I am using Compiz Fusion on Gutsy and I am pretty happy with it, very stable and much better than what Beryl ever was. And I am using almost all the plugins. :)

    Gnome written in Java?

Thats like what I would wish to my worst enemy. "I wish your Gnome is written in Java and uses 7GB of RAM. Boo!"

Re: How are you going to deal with 64bit?

Open K9Copy and shrink and copy a DVD or open DeVeDe and create a DVD and then talk about performance. Even better try to make a bug tar.gz file or apply some filters on Gimp on big files.

Re: How are you going to deal with 64bit?

I don't think this is correct.

Lets say Joomla 1.0.5 has a serious security problem.

    - advise not to use Joomla 1.0.5 right now -accurate and correct
    - one year later generally advise "Joomla...

Re: How are you going to deal with 64bit?

I think Ubuntu as of the Feisty Fawn version is mature enough to suggest to new users to use the AMD64 CPU if their CPU is compatible.

If everyone keeps saying "get the 32bit version its easier,...
