Sorry it was a typo, the correct package name is acpi4asus-dkms and NOT acpi4linux-dkms. Thanks for reporting. Wiki page fixed.
I've write a wiki page for Asus N53 here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Asus_N53 :-)
Any contribute is welcome.
The driver loaded in Ubuntu for N53sv is "r8169" ( even if it should be r8168 )
Anyway you can find the latest driver for Linux here:...
Yes, N53 is a good choice.
Starting a wiki is a good idea, i was thinking the same thing just yesterday. I don't have found nothing of similar in the web.
Yes, it's correct.
Edit:
I've see that "nomsi" parameter is enought to get working usb 3.0.
So the right string for grub is:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash pci=nomsi"
Look this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=10831338&postcount=15
I've fixed USB 3.0 (Fresco Logic FL1000G) adding this parameter to kernel in the grub menu:
pci=nomsithen from command line type:
sudo update-grubI've rebooted and usb 3.0 work.
Someone else have encountered the same problem of strongman?
Info about a .deb package on this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=8607972&postcount=5
Hi, I've make a .deb package (based on the source posted above) for nVidia GeeForce G210M module switch-off for Asus UL30VT, UL50V, UL80V laptops.
I don't have an Asus UL*0V yet, so please test...
Yes, no custom kernel compilation is needed :)
Yes, the interface name now is "ralan".
A .deb package for Ralink RT73 Wireless Lan USB Enhanced Driver (rt73-k2wrlz) for Karmic 9.10 is available here: https://edge.launchpad.net/~marco/+archive/ppa/+packages
