    i have installed ubuntu 16.04 in my laptop.
    starting ubuntu is fast when i have LAN cabled connected.

    when LAN cable disconnected then it is taking around 5 minutes to get login screen.

    but chrome with url http://172.17.0.1 is not working.
    still chrome searching on dns service. chrome is not reading /etc/hosts file .

    already i have defined no_proxy at /etc/environment file
    user@ubuntu:~$ echo $no_proxy
    localhost,127.0.0.0/8,::1

    but

    user@ubuntu:~$ curl 127.0.0.1 --noproxy '*' ...

    it seems like , curl DNS requests are performed based on the proxy dns server, not /etc/hosts fileeven chrome browser also acting same as curl.


    how to configure curl to use system...
