Unmaximize the dash and drag the icon to the desktop... or to launcher.
I had that problem on Natty and fixed it with a restart. I later learned I could have fixed it with terminal
unity --resetI haven't had the problem again since upgrading to Oneric. Nothing was wrong...
Kompozer is fairly easy to use and learn with.

Have you tried installing the 'b43-fwcutter' package? It works for several Broadcom cards when the recommended one won't.
Don't understand then. Did you reboot? Did you try the hardware switch again?? These steps have fixed mine and several others. Hope you can find a solution because I don't know any way else.

Forgot to have you do this:
gksu gedit /etc/rc.local
Add one line above Exit 0
rfkill unblock all
Proofread, save and close gedit. Then reboot
What praseodym advised should work but to keep from having to do that every time you restart, you may need to blacklist the wmi module from loading on boot-up
