    [ubuntu] Re: google crome.

You can still install Chromium, which is more or less the same thing, there is no real reason to have Chrome over Chromium...

    [ubuntu] Re: google crome.

Uh, installing it from the software centre should be the first thing tried, rather than all this messing around with Deb files.

Just go to the dash and type "Software Centre" (11.04+) or Select it...

If you are good at something there is a strong chance you have the motivation to improve, and climb up the "corporate ladder". And having a high position will most likely earn you more money than a...

    Re: Email services

I trust Google enough that I would give them my phone number, if I had a phone.

Anyway, I see no problem in this, how would they act if they used a fingerprint scanner (assuming that technology...

    [ubuntu] Re: Trojan redirects me

Yes I know what XSS attacks are, I even found one once. Also, flaws and exploits are everywhere in everything. I have a file on my server consisting of 500MiB of the letter "x", which web browsers...

Well done, rather than actually justifying your opinion, you have responded with arrogant hostility, now can we wait until the OP replys with anything interesting?

What about a good ol' social engineering attack?

    [ubuntu] Re: Trojan redirects me

Uh, this is not what is happening, the OP said that this problem does not exist on other computers, and writing to the host file in Windows 7 is unfathomable.

What are the sites that get...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Can webpages access files in Home directory?

Yes, there are security problems, but there is no need to create a snadboxed user account, and if there was, it'd be a better idea to use SetUID and setGID. That's actually a good idea... Hmm... But...

    OOP in JavaScript

Anyway, I have just left Flash in a fit of fury about what happened 5 months ago, so I have decided to start using JavaScript and canvas now! Yay!

I was/am working on a crude XML interpreter that...
  12. [ubuntu] Re: Can webpages access files in Home directory?

I really doubt that browser based JS has access to your files willy-nilly... That would be a critical security flaw... If you try to click a link like file:///etc/passwd, at least in Firefox and...

This is the final straw! I quit using Flex! Gasp! Shock!

Anyway, I have to put up a lot with it, ints are faster than uints, the compiler can't compile XML files (but tries), and so on...

[ubuntu] Re: Something weird behind gnome shell

It's nothing that interesting, it's just that the file browser (in this case nautilus) draws the desktop, including the bars at the top, and the shell lazily "covers" it, without removing it.

Pretty much every non-dos/mac thing runs on ether GNU/Linux or FreeBSD, doesn't it? Except badgers, they need to be hacked.
