Re: This toggle button is confusing

For touchscreen some sort of slider button makes sense, but desktop is not touchscreen, it's mouseclick.
Although I think they should somehow show the "OFF" in a disabled state, like being occluded...

Video bug when going to fullscreen

I am playing in window mode with the default video player in Ubuntu.

I press CTRL+ALT+NUM_1 on the keyboard and the video player is repositioned and resized to fit in the bottom-left quadrant.

  4. Re: Munich to distribute Linux CDs to get people to ditch Windows XP

Just because someone gives you a free CD with DOS doesn't mean they're gonna install it.

Thing is perception really. In my company probably 90% of the users could use Linux if the CEO of the...

Re: This toggle button is confusing

When I see this toggle button I think of the WC door locks, one showing "OCCUPIED" in red and "UNOCCUPIED" in green.

Problem is in UI is that the user can have either the question in his mind "Is...

Re: This toggle button is confusing

It is true, a user must have certain knowledge to use computers, a mouse, a keyboard, a browser, etc.

Maybe what I am getting at is... things that are unintuitive but don't need to be.

    I'm...

You're much too forgiving for my taste, but good that you agree.

I'd personally like to meet those who decided that this was a good design and yell at them.

    Firewall?

Windows had a firewall, but was plagued with viruses anyway.

Now that I have installed Ubuntu, should I consider some sort of firewall?

My router does have a firewall though!

I've been trying out the Cairo Dock. It looks nice.

    Cairo dock pleases me! :D

Now, I only need to get rid of this Unity stuff.
And customize the top bar.. or get rid of it entirely.
