  2. [ubuntu] Re: Offline activation of r8125 for Ethernet connection failts

As above, but keep in mind that third-party drivers installed in a live session won't be in thew installed system.
As it's also strongly suggested to disable Secure Boot in UEFI as that is probably...

[kubuntu] Re: Minimize to system tray

    This ^^^
The default is close when closed in any OS it is installed, including Fedora. So, at some point, you changed those defaults.

  6. Re: Newly installed internal DVD drive isn't found on boot

If inxi doesn't show it then it isn't being detected. It has nothing to do with mount point. A new mount point will appear automatically with a readable disk inserted if and only if the drive itself...
  7. [ubuntu] Re: Charge (plug) /uncharge (unplug) not detected instantly

Great, so there's nothing else to do, for the moment. This may or may not be addressed in a future UEFI update. Probably not because it isn't really a problem. Maybe an annoyance but definitely not a...
  8. [SOLVED] Re: How do I get rid of the blank screen I get after trying to boot Ubuntu 18.04.4 LT

Nomodeset isn't a solution, just a temporary workaround.

And your very own link clearly mentions 20.04. Why not use that? It seems that you misread and/or are misinterpreting a lot here.
    The...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Charge (plug) /uncharge (unplug) not detected instantly

No, I meant UEFI update. BIOS isn't used in (almost) any new computer from ~2010 or newer. Unfortunately many manufacturers and users insist in using the now wrong name "BIOS" for the motherboard's...
  10. [SOLVED] Re: UBUNTU 20.04 HOW CAN I INSTALL aMULE??

  11. [ubuntu] Re: Charge (plug) /uncharge (unplug) not detected instantly

Update the firmware (UEFI) before anything else.
  12. Re: Swiss/French Keyboard accent-character-vowel Bug

In Ubuntu 20.04 there are several "French (Switzerland)" layouts:

    Re: blender GPU render

Not all firmwares call Secure Boot by its name. In many it's "OS selection" or similar, where "Other", "Linux", "Android", ... means Secure Boot OFF and "Windows 8" or "Windows 10" means Secure Boot...
  14. Re: Can't install VLC through software center

Make sure the system is fully updated before installing additional software:

    sudo apt update
    sudo apt full-upgrade

Ubuntu Software should work fine after that and, of course, you can always...
  15. Re: Discussion - Full_Disk_Encryption_Howto_2019

    Welcome.

A swap partition isn't required, Ubuntu uses a swapfile now.
If installing in BIOS mode in a GPT drive a small unformatted 'bios_grub' partition is required.

    [ubuntu] Re: Bluetooth mouse reconnect

Your suspicion is the same as mine.
I think it has to do with how Bluetooth HID works. Unlike Bluetooth audio devices that typically can be connected to a few alternating sources without the need to...
  17. [ubuntu] Re: Dual windows 10 and Linux boot. Can't boot into Linux after install

F9 is the one time boot menu (it doesn't change the set boot order except for that one time, on demand).
F10 should open the UEFI settings. The actual boot order should be set at the Boot menu.

    Re: blender GPU render

I mean the Secure Boot feature in the motherboard's firmware (UEFI) that many wrongly refer to as "BIOS".

  20. [lubuntu] Re: Epson WF-3520, Lubuntu 20.04, LibreOffice prints garbage

Libreoffice doesn't "come" with Lubuntu, last time I checked. It is installed by the user and then it can be either the traditional version in the repository or a snap.
    Please check with

    snap list

  24. [lubuntu] Re: Epson WF-3520, Lubuntu 20.04, LibreOffice prints garbage

If you have the snap version of Libreoffice you need to enable specific permissions. You can use Ubuntu Software for that, just open the software's page and you'll see a big red "Permissions" button.
  25. Re: How to access files/directories created in Linux
