    Bye Ubuntu+linux Pt 2

    Linux is overall slower than Windows XP.
    Linux dosent have any prefetching like windows so applications dont speed up over time.
    Its annoying compiling.
    Video editors suck
    Applications get out...

    NTFS dosent have any fsck tools on linux since NTFS is a trade secret.

    To correct ntfs issues you have to run chkdsk on windows.

    1.Extents are what JFS+xfs Use. They improve file deletion times compared to what ext3 uses. Ext3 uses indirect blocks and it is very ineffiecent for large Files.

    Yeah but once you mount it as ext4 with extents enabled it cant be mounted as ext3.

    Because the other filesystems corrupt easily and ext3 is just ext2 with journalling. Ext2 is very stable and ext3 with journalling makes it even more stable.

    I go with AMD. If i wanted to i could get a quad core AMD cpu computer about 100-200$ chea[er than an intel quad cpu. Intel is overprice IMO

    Some of the 80% could be disk cache. Linux dosent like leaving memory unused unlike windows.

    not really, it commits to the journal every 5 seconds i dont know if it does it when idle but i think it does. JFS dosent have a commit interval although i dont know when it does commit its metadata...
