Hey folks. I'm guessing that the need to compile one's own ck patched kernel was taken care of by me updating my ppa. If that was the root issue, please just ask me for an update. It is a pain...
I don't actually know off the top of my head. But any "compile your own ubuntu kernel" guide would do. Just apply the patches right after you get the source code.
I'm still here. I haven't pushed anything out since the last round of updates.
cool, hopefully that means it is fixed for all versions. Thanks for the testing!
tomorrow
I am having issues with 3.0, and I am trying to sort it out. The link you gave is dead, so I don't know what was there. Looking at the ck-hacking website, it looks like folks are just using the...
Hey Faffin,
That's cool what you did. Did you mean 11.10? I tried running a 3.x kernel on 11.04, and it didn't really work out.
It has been awhile since I have updated the kernels. I've gotten...
Hey folks,
I'm leaning towards a mailing list. I use gmail, and I really like conversation view. Forums are poor for multiple conversations. Whatever, the mailing list is here:...
Well, I can somewhat confirm that the issue is with the kernel on launchpad. I locally built the kernel using the same source code that I uploaded to launchpad, and the kernel is working fine with...
yeah, I see it too. Sorry for saying it was fixed. I think when I had built the kernel myself, it worked ok. Unfortunately, I don't have the knowledge nor the time to look into this right now.
I've tracked down the issue. It was on my end. A patch was not applying cleanly, and I failed to notice that. I've since fixed the issue, which will be a part of the -11 upload.
I can confirm the vbox issues on 32 bit host attempting to boot a 32bit guest
Those bug fixes are part of the regular Ubuntu kernel package. My only guess is maybe you are trying to mix together 32bits with 64bits somewhere. The guests and host must line up on that.
You...
any errors?
Hey Hank,
You may also want to take a look at some of the scheduling policies available to you: http://ck.wikia.com/wiki/SchedulingPolicies
I just noticed these! Obviously, you can try...
I would say give it a try. The bfs is geared towards desktop / low latency stuff, so maybe it would help. Maybe the low latency stuff would help with getting the GPU program the cpu it needs.

Hey folks,
I've put the latest experimental ck patch as -ckexperimental into my ppa. Is this kind of testing interesting to anyone? If so, where is the best place to announce such builds?
ok, all errors resolved, enjoy!
Ah, I see what I was missing. There is more than one error msg than just the last "make error 2" message.

Quick update: The lucid packages built fine, but launchpad had an error copying the packages over.
On Maverick, there is a build failure with, AFAICT, is a generic error message. It seems to be...
hi fackamato, I'm not sure how I will put together a natty kernel right away. I heard that Canonical is using 2.6.38 for natty, but that isn't released. And ck will likely not release his patches...
I put together a lucid package, it is named differently, linux-bfs-whatever. There should be specific directions on my ppa. Would someone test it for me? This package only includes the bfs...
I'm not doing anything for lucid, atm. Right now, I want to focus on staying more uptodate with ck, and getting a 2.6.37 kernel together.
