I have not been able to get nautilus to display thumbnails for Olympus raw files from the Olympus e-m1 mkii camera. It displays thumbnails for canon CR2 raw files but not Oly ORF files.
These are...
Yes, but only if the motherboard allows you to boot from an external drive.
It's my understanding that this was by design starting with version 3.0
I found a .deb file for version 2.20. After installing python-gpod, it works perfectly in 12.10 with my classic ipod

I agree completely. Gpodder is no longer useful. I really don't see any reason to have it. What could they have possibly been thinking?
Now that 11.10 has been released I decided to give it another try.
As as with 11.04 , I find it to be completely unusable. It seems as if the interface was designed to purposely prevent the...
After using Ubuntu exclusively since hardy I am looking for another distro. I am curious about which distro those of you , who like me, have found unity to be unusable have moved to.
I tried...
As far as bring a great interfaces goes, I'd say it's about on par with Microsoft Bob.
Dumbing down an interface doesn't make it great.
Why would you want to do that? Linux is about choice. Unity is an attempt to lock newbies in and it's a miserable failure.
There are other options but why mess with something that works?...
any text editor. php files are just plain text.
I'm not sure that IO follow completely, but I believe that if you had windows installed in virtualbox and you have the associated .vdi file, all you have to do is copy this to the appropriate...
If you have synaptic installed, run it, search for Kaffeine, select it by clicking on it, click on package (menu) and select 'Lock Version'
I have been using 64bit for the last few releases and have had no compatibility issues.
Why didn't you stick with 8 bit ;-) Probably before your time. My age is showing.
I didn't find it to be buggy, I am sticking with 10.10 because I found unity to be completely unusable. It is an interface better suited to a cell phone or netbook. I did try to use gnome classic...
Try this:
cd ~/Downloads
When you say nothing happens, what exactly do you mean?
Does it come back and tell you no such directory? Does it give an error?
Keep in mind that everything is case sensitive.
If you are in...
Google would be a good place to start. There are dozens of how to pages on the subject.
I believe that the AMD Athlon 64 x2 5000+ is an AM2 Socket and the Phenom II x4 980 is AM3. Your motherboard is probably not compatible.
Most windows applications will not run acceptably or at all in wine.
go here to determine whether or not your app will work:

I use Banshee to manage music on my IPod and I use gpodder for podcasts, both work flawlessly. Of course you can't access the itunes store through them if that's your goal.
You can bet that the majority of us put them back on the 'right' side where they belong. Bad design is bad design. Moving the buttons and the menu is bad design.
I knew this wouldn't be the case. People want something that is familiar. Gnome 2 and KDE are to some extent similar to the windows interface. Unity, is not familiar to anyone, it is not intuitive...
That's the best way to learn.
That is a pretty broad question.
There is more then one way to install programs through the terminal. The easiest is to use the apt-get command. It really depends on the application and whether or...
