[ubuntu] Re: USB ports stopped working in 9.10

Ok what I did was..... (not knowing what to do and being...

[all variants] Re: Anyone know if/when HP 311 w/Linux?

As it's a lowish end consumer device I doubt HP would release it with Linux (Especially given HP's relationship with Microsoft). If you want linux on it install it :KS :)

    [ubuntu] Re: ubuntu 9.10 release

If I have Ubuntu Beta 9.10 do I need to upgrade to full? (Someone in this thread said the "about" info did not mention beta, but I don't think it did even when it was a beta, lol).

[ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu 9.04 and HP Mini 311 with nVidia Ion LE

Apparently the ION Le is just a driver crippled Ion full fat. See http://myhpmini.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=2571 for details. I don't know if this information will inform any possible unlocking...

[ubuntu] Re: 9.10 Beta Failed install

  11. Re: Microsoft forbids changes to Windows 7 netbook wallpaper

Here it is I'm afraid.... http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=188772 Near enough $500 US$ and Windows 7 Starter (although note we brits do get ripped off unfortunately so will be cheaper elsewhere :D)....
  12. Re: Microsoft forbids changes to Windows 7 netbook wallpaper

You're misinformed I am afraid. Windows 7 starter is due to be released on Netbooks worldwide soon, and is only available via OEM's. Windows 7 home basic is the developing countries one.

    I suspect...

  14. [ubuntu] Re: Menu text in some apps not shown (Kaffeine, Klear)

Took me a bit to figure out but seems it was the visual effects causing the problem. Disabling them fixed it.

    Hi guys

(Newbie alert) - trying to finally make the switch from Windoze to Linux. Have so far persevered through setting up display drivers, sorting out the sound and getting digital tv to work...
