Hi there, after reading up on some posts, I think it's safe to dual boot these to OSes. My only question is this: when I install Linux Mint, should I install it on one / partition or should I install...
Here's the short story:
I have Natty, Natty installation #2 and Windows 7 on my one hard drive. Grub can only see one Ubuntu installation (Natty #2) and Windows 7 after trying the update-grub...
Thank's for the reply! I'll look into Bootinfoscript :)
I Googled around to find an answer to this with no luck. This was a tutorial on how to manually add an entry to Fedora: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=263739 However, this won't work...
*facepalm* Thank you. :)
It seems I've been sitting under a rock for some time . I hear everyone talking about it. I know what Nautilus Elemntary is, but not the breadcrumbs part. After searching Google, I still...
I'm also having the same problem. Does anybody know of a solution?
I manually created Natty's partition, so I didn't have this problem.
Do you need help fixing this problem?

Hello, I just set up Evolution and when I clicked on Send/Receive every email was deleted from the Hotmail server.
Is there an option to prevent this from happening?
I agree, wubi caused too many problems with me. Slowness was one of my big issues.

I agree, 11.04 Beta 1 is too unstable. It worked fine for me, minus the frequent compiz crashes, until I updated some X server package thing. After a reboot, the screen was plagued with black...
Thank-you! I better bookmark this page for future reference :)
I've checked out another tutorial, but this command didn't work:
sudo grub-install /dev/sdbIt says:

I was just about to finish an...
Have you tried looking at your hard disk with Gparted? It should give you a graphical layout of partitions on your hard drive. The original Windows partition (if any) would show up as NTFS format.
Yes you can, just make sure that you're using the live CD/usb to resize Ubuntu's ext4 partition (the largest one).
And yes, it would be best to do this all with the live CD.
Don't worry about the flagged Windows partition, once Ubuntu is installed, it overwrites Windows bootloader (the thing that chooses which operating system you're going to boot into).
To update the...
Go to System->Administration->Gparted
After it's done scanning your hard drive(s) Select the NTFS partition (this is the partition to the very left).
Right click it and select delete. Now you...
I have the same problem. The clicking started to occur when the serial ports on my motherboard went. That was when I was running Windows 7. After installing Ubuntu, the clicking was still present.

Hehe, that was the same tutorial that got me into this mess :)
It turns out that I had to delete two files under /etc/apt/sourses.list.d/ that were related to a different LibreOffice ppa (or...
