did you recompile the 12.6, or did you install from the "extra drivers"? I'm experiencing exactly the same problem for exactly the same reason! Cheers!
holy crap..didn't realize the log was that large...
I've tracked the issue down to the fglrx driver..there are many pepole (mostly with laptops) that are having this issue..i hope to find a...

This doesn't happen every time i sleep, but it is consistent. I have my power options set to put the computer to sleep after 10 min of inactivity. This works well the first 2 times after a power...
i'm also having this issue...among others..could it be the visual drivers? (i think that's the culprit for my other issues..i'm using fglrx and it's been unstable from day one).
i tried that, it did not work.

I've had a few weird issues come up wtih my fresh install of 12.04. The sleep function is set for 5 min..but works very inconsistently. Sometimes i'll come back and the computer will be on,...
I fixed it!
The problem was usbmount. I went to synaptic and uninstalled it, restarted the computer and it works fine.
I found the solution on this thread...
i just had a re-read of this thread, and it appears i missed checking the permissions on the usb.

i had to repair the grub menu due to the dual boot..i may have messed that up... (but i dont think so..the 2 seem unrelated, and my dual boot works fine)
I should also be clear that this is all usb drives, not just one. The formatting is generally in fat32. I can't firgure out what happened either..it's really strange..it seems like the permissions...
OKay, I've got a clean install of ubuntu 12.04..very little changed from when it was installed last week...kept up to date.
When i try to copy from my home folder to a USB key i get

I have had virtualbox running with an up to date copy of winxp and itunes running without a hitch (for updating my iphone etc)....
Oh, i have the virtualbox passthrough working, i routinely load my iphone and have even used an epson scanner through usb passthrough on my VB (same machine, same installation). I'm using the .deb...
yeah, i'm using virtualbox for the xp virtualization. I did have the am-900 drivers for xp, installed it, but there was no passthrough for the usb (couldn't select it, so xp couldn't "See" it).

The laser printer in question is a sharp am-900. It will not auto detect, and i'm running a virtual machine (with USB passthrough) and cannot see the usb connection on the virtual winxp installation...
If you have an old winxp laying around, the way i got around this was to install winxp in a virtualbox (www.virtualbox.org) and sync my iphone that way.
I am holding out hope that 10.04 will sync...
