    Did you partition your drive that already Windows on it?

    I have used dd to backup CD and DVD media and have been able to mount it in Linux using mount. I usually backup purchased CD and DVD media like X-Plane and mount it when I want to install it.

    I have never partitioned in OSX but... can you back up your data then use the partition editor on the Linux CD to create a partition for OSX and Linux. I am not sure if the OSX install can do this...
