    [all variants] Re: Webcam 05e3:0503 and F191 (gl860 chip)

    With the previous script, the error about i2c_core not found is the same, but v4l/v4l1-compat.ko is inserted correctly, and from there it goes without further errors.

    Should the last script work on 64bit systems as well? Throwing some error here, something about i2c_core not found, then

    insmod: can't read 'v4l/v4l1-compat.ko': No such file or directory

    [all variants] Re: Webcam 05e3:0503 and F191 (gl860 chip)

    On a 64 bit system, you have to preload /usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l1compat.so

    Mind the lib32. Skype is a 32 bit application, so it needs the 32 bit library.

    You may have to install lib32v4l-0 first:...

    [all variants] Re: Webcam 05e3:0503 and F191 (gl860 chip)

    Also, since Skype is a 32 bit application, you need to preload the 32 bit libraries if you are on a 64 bit OS. Like so:

    LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype
    I start it like this to...
