  1. [ubuntu] Re: how do i update DivX Web Player? - Firefox says it's vulnerable

Indeed, trying the official "check for updates" does not help.
Moreover, on https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ the URI for getting to an update page is missing in the DivX Web Player case.

  2. Re: New Juniper NC utility available

Nice, but it is worth noting that this script, like its predecessors, is not applicable in cases where the user needs to authenticate with a smart card (rather than with a password).
    Or do you see...

You're welcome! Here is an update of my original post for Ubuntu 12.04

    [all variants] Re: rename printer

For manually changing the printer name in current Ubuntu (12.04),
in addition to editing the name in /etc/cups/printers.conf
you need to rename the respective .ppd file in /etc/cups/ppd/

  6. Re: HOWTO set up Juniper Network Connect VPN on Ubuntu Dapper

Hi Madscientist, I was not aware that your your script solved the 32-/64-bit issue in essentially the same way as I did with my simple switcher script.

  7. Re: HOWTO set up Juniper Network Connect VPN on Ubuntu Dapper

My switch script simply forwards the parameters that it receives (apparently being called from ncLinuxLauncher.jar).
AFAICS, the NC.jar waits for credential input from the browser to be provided...
  8. Re: HOWTO set up Juniper Network Connect VPN on Ubuntu Dapper

    Pleased to hear!

I also tried this, and I'd guess that ncLinuxApp.jar is simply not intended to be called independently.
Yet NC.jar is; it is called for instance as follows, where the...
  9. HOWTO set up Juniper Network Connect VPN on 64-bit Ubuntu 11.04

I also had quite some trouble getting Juniper to run on a new 64-bit Linux installation (Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty").
Using a 32-bit chroot works, but is quite cumbersome.

    After a lot of investigation...

[SOLVED] Re: 32-bit and 64-bit Firefox at the same time

You can use MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH to point to the appropriate plugins directory.
For instance, I have a startup script for each of the two FF binary variants,
    one using

There is at least experimental support for ext4,
which does work for my Ubuntu 8.04 installation.

Make sure that the ext4dev module is loadable into your kernel. Then try
