Yes, I had the same issue as you (broken grub) and used Boot Repair to fix it,

Boot repair couldnt be much easier....just open it and select the "recommended repair" button, and that's it.

I had this issue with the switchable graphics on my Lenovo Ideapad u400.

I found a fix, maybe you can adapt it to fit your needs.

In terminal, enter this

sudo nano /etc/default/grub
...

This worked for me:






sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ $(lsb_release -sc) partner"
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install skype && sudo apt-get -f install
