I'm glad it worked out, Aurek. Hopefully, the more you use Ubuntu, the more you'll enjoy it. One of the things I like best about Ubuntu, is that there is no registry. It's very stable.
When you burned the CD, did you create a CD from the image file (.iso), or just copy the .iso file to a CD? The latter would not be bootable.
