[ubuntu] Re: VIA Driver for HP2133

I think if I had the display / xorg.conf set up correctly with a decent VIA or Openchrome driver running, the system would be very fast. When I got my system, I had OpenSuse SLED10 installed and it...

    [ubuntu] VIA Driver for HP2133

    Ahoy Hoy!

I've just installed 9.10 to my HP2133 (1.2ghz / 2GBRam) and everything seems pretty good. My only issue is that the display is a little choppy and slow. I'm aware that VIA had released...

I've been having the same issues. I use the Vodaphone 3G modem (K3520 model) in Australia and my system won't even find the device when it's inserted! I tried the method above but nothing happened. I...

    [ubuntu] Backup Question

I've currently got my system exactly how I like it. I was wondering if there was a way to backup everything, like in Time Machine in Apple.

I want to save system settings & config, desktop...

I'm just using standard CD-R (my ibook doesn't have a DVD drive). I've tried a few times and it hasn't worked. I feel like my iBook is now bricked. I'm trying one more time

    [ubuntu] Re: Get it Off!

I've been using Windows as I have Transmac. It seems to read the .dmg better and offers the chance to burn it into an iso. Is there a linux altrnative? When loading the CD in Linux (on my laptop) it...

    [ubuntu] Re: Get it Off!

I've tried both methods but to no such luck. I think it may be the disk. I'll try burning another. Problem is, I think it's a .dmg but I have to make it bootable. I think I'll have to google it.

Thanks for the help but when I tried a restart, the error message still came back? I noticed when I tried "sudo chown rich:rich /home/rich" I wasn't asked for my password?
