Having similar issues here with my quad core Phenom. It was working fine with all 4 cores until I did a reinstall of Kubuntu... now just 1 core shows up.

a little trick for pasting into a terminal is press 'Ctrl + Shift + V' instead of just 'Ctrl + V'... works with nano.
