I upgraded with the alternate install CD. Rebooted and ran the update manager. I now have this message:

I actually don't care for graphics that much. I think there is an overemphasis on graphics and sometimes the gameplay lacks because of it. I'd rather play Half Life 1 over some newer games any day....
