that was awesome, I have been wanting to get my x2500 to work in Linux forever and nothing ever worked, this worked flawlessly!
When I open the places menu, and click something such as my home folder, or any of my removable media it opens rhythmbox. It will not open those places in nautilus. This is quit frustrating. However...
Hmm I read somewhere else about this fix. I don't seem to have a /etc/default/grub file on my system. Would it work if I created this file and put that line in?
How come you don't need eee control? I have an eee 1005hab also. My upgrade didn't go to smoothly. Maybe I'll have to give 10.04 a try from a fresh install without eee control.

HoTTProxy Error, Help needed!
I went through the community documentation on how to install HoTTProxy. Installed all of the perl modules etc... When I get to the point where I go to start the admin script I get this.
