    It Does! it works. I think the root of the problem was the UEFI turned on in the BIOS. Thanks a ton Darkod... been at this for many many hours trying to figure it out.

    The bios did indeed have UEFI & Legacy turned on. I have turned that off so that it is only legacy. I am also going to start from the beginning with clean disks and see if that works.

    This issue is solved now.

    The issue was exactly as stated in the previous post. The SWAP space was preventing the raid from expanding.
