    Re: Hannah Montana Linux?!?

I wrote a blog post on this awhile back. It's basically Kubuntu 9.04 with a theme, no extra packages or anything.

Re: We need to close this type of blogs...

    @OP

You have got to be kidding.
Blogs are for expressing opinions. Some like Linux, others don't. If linuxhaters makes you sad, don't read it.

    [ubuntu] Printing Slow

I've noticed in Ubuntu, the time between clicking the print button, and the printer actually receiving it is unusually long, usually about 40-50 seconds. Is there an easy way to fix this? This...
  6. Re: Why jaunty not available for download?

Because Jaunty is no longer the latest release, and Hardy is LTS.

If you must download an old release, here's a torrent link:...

Re: thinking of going back to dial up

So you're saying you plan to remedy the issue of lack of speed by going back to dialup?

I'm in Canada as well (Vancouver) and I use Shaw's "High Speed Extreme" and it's blazin'.

Re: Whats your first linux distro?

Red Had 9, I think. I never really got into it until Fedora Core 3 or so, though.

A Vista box I had at one point did this. The only way to turn it off completely after shutting down Windows was to flip the switch on the PSU off, then on again. The same box with Windows XP...

    Re: Recommended forum software?

Please do not use phpBB, it's full of security holes and bugs. Why it's so popular is beyond me.

SMF 2.0 RC1.2 had some (lots of) problems, but the latest RC2 is actually really nice, I think you...

    Re: Good image host?

    Imgur.com > *

I don't think anyone likes Imageshack's gross overuse of banner and popup ads.

  17. Re: Linux distro ubuntu fedora pclinuxos openSUSE

PCLinuxOS is on life support. I hear several developers have left to make their own distro.

Fedora is nice, but keep in mind that it doesn't hold your hand through everything like Ubuntu does.

Re: Meet the Mac Mini Server...

Mac OS X Server is really easy to set up. For example, Apple provides a GUI config tool for Apache instead of using .conf files, and unlike most Linux/BSDs, setting up a mail server is trivial.

Re: Why use BSD or Hurd?

Well, if you're familiar with the workings of BSD, you don't need a manual. FreeBSD is (in a nutshell) more stable and secure than Ubuntu Server.

But, if you're a new with servers, Ubuntu or Arch...
