@harryharryharry: Thanks for the updated script! This little netbook is still fun to play with.
That did the trick, I successfully created the image. Thanks! Yeah, the --force flag is depreciated and there's now --overwrite, but neither are recommended to use at all.
I just tried creating a Manjaro Xfce 18 USB on my other laptop running Manjaro Cinnamon and noticed this error during the build:
==> Starting build: 4.19.2-sound-39
-> Running build hook:...
Thanks! Not a big deal, but for some strange reason, the ISO is owned by root instead of me:

@harryharryharry:
I just tried building a Manjaro 17.1.10 ISO and received the following error. I built Manjaro 17.1.8 at the beginning of June just fine.

You can use whatever you want, just use the proper thread for discussion. ;)
Remember folks, non-Ubuntu discussion is not allowed in this thread. We don't want the mods to lock the thread again. Please use the ASUS X205TA hardware support for any other OS thread for that.
Don't use hibernation, it's never worked well. I use suspend instead. Sometimes it'll still freeze during suspend even with the patches harry added, but it's much better than it used to be.
I ran the install-grub.sh after installation was finished. I forgot to do that once, so I just wiped the USB stick and reinstalled.
Why are you trying to install 32-bit? Remember, this device supports 64-bit but has a 32-bit UEFI bootloader. Both the script and the prebuilt ISO's are meant for 64-bit and will install 32-bit grub....
@mastertorch
Did you run the /root/install-grub.sh right after installation finished?
FYI, harry has current prebuilt ISO's of Manjaro Deepin, Cinnamon and Budgie on his website.
Whoops, nevermind.
I disabled display compositing and installed compton. I think I followed a guide similar to this one. It's the first Google search result for xfce compton. There's also a graphical configuration tool...
I've only tried Cinnamon, MATE & Xfce on this netbook, so I'm not sure why the Fn keys wouldn't work in LXDE. You can try the scripts on the post you linked to, however @harryharryharry might have a...
Yes, it's fine to post here about Lubuntu and other variants.

No one knows what it means unless you look at the boot logs and see what kernel module failed to load.
Is this on Ubuntu or some other derivative? If not, please post in the ASUS X205TA hardware...
This is a fork of the original thread Asus X205TA hardware support in Ubuntu. The forum moderators requested we not discuss other distros not based on Ubuntu and suggested we create a thread here.

EDIT: Fixed the link.
Yep, that was it. I checked the pacman.log and alsa-lib was indeed updated. I tried replacing both those files as you suggested, but there was no change. Would you recommend downgrading alsa-lib? It...
@harryharryharry
Last night sound worked. When I booted up today, I had no sound. I checked pavucontrol and the port showed Speakers (unplugged) and Headphones (plugged in). I plugged in wired...
The instructions are in the post I linked. You can copy & paste the the lines without the # symbol to download and run the script. Once you're up & running, install the latest prebuilt kernel.
Use harry's script.
It seems to have solved it. Thanks!
It turns out turning off compositing did not work, I just forgot to mention it earlier. I tried a bunch of different chrome flags with no success. I'm sticking with sound-10 for now.
