I've just been testing the release candidate for Karmic and the problem seems to have improved. The backspacing is nowhere near as slow as it was in Jaunty.

But there is <em>still</em> a delay...

I agree that Chromium doesn't have this problem and I'm sure it'll be a very viable option for power users soon. But till that time, we still need to figure out why this problem is plaguing Firefox...

I'm trying to install Tracker Search, but after installation, when I run "trackerd", I get:

trackerd: command not found

Other tracker tools such as preferences and tracker search are all there,...

I've also just realized that Gnome-do doesn't index the contents of the files...but there's a "Tracker Plugin" that I've enabled and I've just installed Tracker - waiting to see how the two work...
