I don't have a solution for you but I'd be happy to help you work on it a little, as I would like to solve the same problem.
A couple questions:
Which one worked (the login), LWO or Centrify...
I ended up resolving my problem at work by installing the hp network printer on a ubuntu server I have connect to the network by ethernet and then sharing the printer out. It then works fine on my...
Did you ever get a solution for your workcentre 5755? I am banging my head on the same wall. I'm using the XR_WC5735.ppd file like you are. I did add the 0 on line 26, as shown but it still says I...

Ubuntu 10.04 NBE should work great on your Acer Aspire One. That is what I am typing on right now. I think we will need to understand a few things:
Did you install Ubuntu on the Acer...
Thanks to both of you. These give me some good ideas with Likewise as well as pointing me towards Centrify Express. I will look for some documentation on that. My only reason for using...
I did a fresh install of the netbook version of 10.10 on a Gateway CX2618. I ran all updates and then rebooted. I installed LWO 5.4 from the repository and joined the domain. I put in a kerberos...
I installed Likewise Open 6 (from their website, not from the repositories, as there is a comment about an glitch in the version in the repositories.
I did 1, 2, and 3 above.

I'm hung up on the same issue but it seems unlikely that this one will work for me, as I am trying to connect to my printer via a network. I am on wifi and am connecting to a printer on our local...
What's the best way to add a 30 second pause to your script?
I'm fairly new to scripting but am happy to learn. I've done a couple bash scripts for server backups.
Thanks
Paul
Any idea what happens when the network share is unavailable? For example, if the server is down or if the user is logging in from home instead of inside the domain?
Thanks-
I'll give it a try and report back.

Did you get this to work so that various users could get their windows shares mounted? It looked like you were successful, based on your last post. If so, what version are you using?
...
Thanks for the great tutorial, NTolerance and other contributors.
I would like to replicate this for multiple users on a single computer. We join Ubuntu machines to an AD domain with Likewise-Open...
Conor's most recent post here about the grub fix resolved my problem with boot times in Maverick on the Toshiba NB205. I've got 50 of them. Hopefully the grub setup will carry over cleanly with the...
This did just the trick. My boot times on a Toshiba NB205 were at about 10 minutes. I couldn't figure it out. This simple changed fixed me up. We are back to 30ish seconds.
Thanks

Is there a way to update the bios for the NB205 in ubuntu? It appears that the Toshiba bios tool is a windows .exe. I have Ubuntu Maverick installed and it is booting so slow I can't believe it. ...
I know this is an old thread. Hopefully someone is still there. If I edit /etc/group and want to add a domain user, how do I put their username?
Is it DOMAIN\username or just username or...
I was so hopeful that this would work. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. Mine seems to think the printer is disconnected (an HP Color LaserJet cp2025dn). It was working great. I am in a...
What doesn't work in Lucid? I have some NB205's and a clean install of Lucid seems to work fine. The audio works both in the speaker and in the headphone jack. I don't know for sure about the...
I tried running that command but I still get the same bad results in Brasero.
I wish this helped me. I am nearly certain that it isn't a hardware problem but I have no idea what to do next with the wodim or brasero software.
I have a hunch this is a kernal issue, so there might be something in the standard kernal that knocked out cd writing. Any solutions for those on standard ubuntu 10.04, instead of kubuntu?
Did anyone really solve this problem. It just popped up for me. I did an upgrade in "9.10" and it started throwing errors when burning. So, I updated to "10.04" but same deal.
I have read...
Same problem here. I lost the ability to burn cds a couple weeks ago with an update in 9.10. I finally gave up and upgraded to 10.04 but same problem. I get what appears to be the same error...
