Try adding -vsync 1 -async 1 before the -c:v libx264 if that doesn't work then try adding -vf fps=x (where x is the fps the video is, so if it's 23.976; x would = 24)

Went ahead and followed that guide ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-cdimage/+bug/1298894/comments/16 ) It worked. For 16.04.1...
I use iptables also obviously on my servers and on desktop. Besides my own rules I always install fail2ban. It is surprising to see how many ip addresses are temporarily banned from incorrect logins....
Incidentally, I didn't purge the Caja packages if anyone wants to look at them providing they tell me how to do it. Off topic sad I am only First Cup of Ubuntu when I used to be "Give me the Beans."
