    I'm starting to think maybe I am doing something wrong because that doesn't work either!! Same thing with the device is present but nothing shows up under iwconfig.

    well because that was a netgear driver. Oops im sorry i did lsusb without my adapter in... ok well I'll just do it again, the adapter inside the computer should be showing though.

    There is a cd that comes with the adapter, should we try that? I have my other adapter from my friend that actually uses Ubuntu, and then I have the adapter already installed in the computer.
