Grub still "sees" the other partitions, but that doesn't really bother me that much.
AND I can mount my Windows partition! I'm listening to music from it right now :)

I downloaded the CD to install the 64-bit version of Ubuntu .10. I DO have a Knoppix disk somewhere that works, would that do?

I've got a funky problem with my laptop. It was a dual-boot between windows XP and Ubuntu 8.04. I had added another partiton to it by installing 8.10 in 64-bit version, and being the stupid...
..............um...what am I supposed to do?
