There's a Windows hibernation partition for sure and then a linux swap, which is used by Ubuntu. I believe that would be used by the hibernate command.
I definitely have IRST on this laptop because it works on windows, the option is present in the power settings and if I turn it off the laptop just goes in suspend, slowly depleting all my battery as...
I recently bought a Lenovo ideapad u430 touch with a beautiful 256gb SSD drive. I installed Ubuntu in dual boot with windows and everything works smoothly, even the intel wireless that used to have...

Don't go for Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabook, the one with Ivy Bridge processor at least, I'm having on 13.04 some serious problems with acpi and power management.
By the way, how stable is 13.10 right now ? I'm sure there's a new kernel and acpi packages there, I might give it a try.
The computer is brand new, the cable is original and most of all on Windows 8 works normally.
It's definitely a kernel/acpi software issue and in my opinion quite critical.
Against which...
Absolutely, please go on, now I redid some tests with plug and unplug and the battery is right now DISCHARGING while the cable is in.

I will try to repair windows boot, then make a usb drive recovery, then eliminate all partitions and install windows without srt or raid since there is only one ssd and then ubuntu after that, Uefi...
From what I read having Intel SRT if there's only one SSD drive is pointless and doesn't bring any performance improvement. Then why THE HELL did acer put it on this computer?
Am I correct? Can I...
Thanks for the quick answer. My problem is that the ssd is only one 128gb piece and windows recovery is occupying 20gb of it alone (how stupid is that?).
What I'd like to do is reinstall windows...
