  1. Re: doing install, installation type window

If you want to keep partitions, always best to only use Something Else.
But then you have to create your own / (root) partition as ext4. That is all that is really required if a new user.
    But you...

    Re: grub problem

Both Windows & grub on major updates reset default boot order, if UEFI. Or reinstall to MBR if BIOS.
Windows also typically turns on Windows fast start up. So even if you turned it off before, you...
  3. Re: New Seperate M.2 SSD for Windows 10 Pro install Help

UEFI seems to automatically find Windows in ESP and add that back into boot menu when an internal drive is plugged in.

Do you have a drive boot option, that is also called the fallback and is...

May be best to see details, use ppa version with your live installer (2nd option) or any working install, not older Boot-Repair ISO:

    [ubuntu] Re: Boot issue

    do not know RAID.

But you show 2.7TB drives using MBR(msdos). So you have crippled drives to be only 2TB. See line 442 in Summary Report.
MBR was created in the 1980's when KB was standard, MB...

[ubuntu] Re: Flumoxxed by Dual Boot Instal------------++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++lation

    What model IdeaPad?

Some early models (100) were pretty difficult to install. A poster said the 100s was much better.
And those early models were 64 bit, but used a 32bit UEFI boot loader....
  9. Re: Migrating from Samsung 256GB SSD to Samsung 1TB SSD...Help Please.

Whatever you do, do not convert to dynamic disk.
Not supported in Linux, and not even all Windows tools support it.
It is proprietary to Windows. And Microsoft only offers a one way conversion.

If they are now supporting UEFI update from Linux, then that is a major step to full support.

  11. Re: New Seperate M.2 SSD for Windows 10 Pro install Help

How you boot from UEFI boot menu is how it installs for both Windows & Ubuntu.
You need to boot in UEFI boot mode.

You manually select in UEFI boot mode, and that is optional as settings in UEFI...
  12. Re: Migrating from Samsung 256GB SSD to Samsung 1TB SSD...Help Please.

All that really says is that 250GB drive is partitioned with gpt and no partition type errors.
  13. Re: Migrating from Samsung 256GB SSD to Samsung 1TB SSD...Help Please.

    Windows may be hibernated.

Or gpt may have backup gpt partition table now at point on drive that was old drives end. Backup gpt table is at end of drive. You may need to move it.

    Re: Formatting Portable SSD

    +1 on NTFS

The exFAT format is proprietary to Microsoft.

  16. Re: Need Want to remove ubuntu and install windows again

  17. Re: Booting Windows... Grub menu is hidden. No UEFI for Windows 10

Grub only boots working Windows that is installed in the same boot mode UEFI or BIOS as Ubuntu.
And working means Windows cannot need chkdsk nor be hibernated.

Windows only boots in BIOS mode from MBR...
  24. [SOLVED] Re: Add UEFI boot capability to a BIOS only Ubuntu 18.04 based custom iso

  25. Re: New Seperate M.2 SSD for Windows 10 Pro install Help
